A control user can publish a resource to be a channel. An enterprise channel can be used a a common folder or public folder. All the enterprise channels are listed under /Shared/Common This can be used to create a Company calendar, Global Address List, Global read only documents (publications). The users will have default access to them without being part of a group. Common folders will have a public label listed instead of the owner user or group.
